Acrylic sheet calculator

List your sign panels, plaques and screens, pick the sheet size and your cutter or laser gap, and the calculator nests them: how many sheets of acrylic, composite or foamex to buy, and where every panel goes.

Acrylic and sign board calculator

A sign job is loaded as an example. Change it to your own. Untick “Parts can turn” for brushed, mirrored or printed sheet where the direction matters.

How to use it

  1. Sheet size. Tap a common size or type the one your supplier sells.
  2. Gap between parts. On a CNC router, the cutter diameter plus anything you leave for tabs. On a laser, the gap you actually leave between parts. The kerf guide has typical figures.
  3. Price per sheet (optional) gives the material cost of the job.
  4. Panels. Finished width, height and quantity. Untick “Parts can turn” for brushed aluminium composite or mirrored acrylic.
  5. Calculate for the sheet count and every sheet drawn to scale.

Common sheet sizes

Several sheet sizes at once

The app mixes sizes and picks the cheapest combination, such as a full sheet plus a smaller one for the last few panels.

Offcuts back on the next job (Pro)

Usable offcuts are measured on every sheet and can be saved to stock, so the next small plaque comes out of what is already on the rack.

Quotes from the layout (Pro)

Material with your markup, cutting time from the actual layout, and VAT, on your letterhead.
