For suppliers and bloggers

Put a cutting calculator on your website

Sell sheet, board or bar? Write about woodwork or fabrication? Add the CutNest calculator to your own page so your customers can work out how many sheets or lengths to order. Set it to the sizes and prices you sell, then copy the code.

Why add it

Customers order the right amount

They type their parts and see the real number of sheets or lengths, nested the way they’ll be cut, not an area sum that comes up short.

Your sizes and prices

It opens on the sheet or length you sell, at your price per sheet, in your currency. Customers can still change the size.

Free, and nothing to look after

No account, no fee and no updates to install. When the calculator improves, it improves on your page too.

No cookies, nothing uploaded

It sets no cookies and shows no ads. The parts a customer types stay in their browser.

How to add it

  1. Set it up above: the calculator, your stock size, kerf, price and currency. The preview shows exactly what your visitors will see.
  2. Copy the code with the button.
  3. Paste it into your page:
    • WordPress: add a Custom HTML block and paste the code into it.
    • Wix: Add → Embed code → Embed HTML, choose “Code” and paste.
    • Squarespace: add a Code block and paste.
    • Shopify: on a page, press Show HTML (the <> button) and paste where you want it.
    • Anything else: paste it into the HTML of the page where the calculator should go.

The code has three parts: the calculator itself, a short line saying where it’s from, and a few characters of script that let the calculator grow and shrink with its results so there’s no scroll bar inside it. If your site doesn’t allow scripts, leave the last line out and the calculator still works at a fixed height.

Sizes, units and currency

The metric calculators take millimetres; the inch ones take inches, and show feet and inches to your visitors. Any currency CutNest knows can be used: pounds, dollars, euros, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand dollars, francs, złoty, krona and more.

The address in the code carries your settings, so you can also change it by hand: w and h are the sheet size (just w for a length), kerf the gap between parts, price the price of one sheet or length, and cur the currency code.

Questions

No. The calculator is free to put on any website, for as long as you like.
It loads after the rest of your page, only when a visitor scrolls to it, and it is small: no frameworks and no tracking scripts.
The calculator on your page shows the sheet count, the cost and every sheet drawn. A button opens the same job in the full CutNest app, in a new tab, where it can be saved, printed as cut sheets or exported.
Not yet. It uses a plain white panel that sits well on most pages. If you need it to match your site, email hello@cutnest.co.uk.
Please keep it. It is how the calculator stays free, and the line is small.
