How the sizes are worked out
- Box depth: 12 − 3/4 for the door = 11 1/4".
- Top and bottom fit between the sides: 30 − 3/4 − 3/4 = 28 1/2".
- The shelves are 1/16" narrower so they drop in (28 7/16") and 1/4" shallower (11").
- The 1/4" back is 30 × 30".
You’ll also need
- A 1/4" back, 30 × 30"
- A hanging rail or French cleat
- Hinges, shelf pins and screws
Sizes assume 3/4" plywood and lumber at its actual size (a 2×4 is 1 1/2 × 3 1/2"). Measure your material before cutting: plywood is often a little under 3/4".
